Week 2

Time To Kill by John Grisham
Afast-paced legal thriller set in Mississippi within a highly-charged and emotional court drama that is polarized by the events of a rape of a 10 year old black girl, and then, with the vigilante murder of her rapists. Action-packed, attention-getting and issue-oriented themes are developed in this character-driven novel.

Defending Jacob by William Landay
The murder of a school boy has thrown a whole Massachusetts community into a frenzy trying to find out the murderer. Once someone is apprehended, the father of the murderer and lead District Attorney refuses to accept that his son is responsible for the murder. This disturbing psychological thriller leaves a family unraveled and the reader asking: doesn't he get it? Suspenseful to the very end.
